Block Detection - A Brief Introduction

Block detectors sense the presence of a locomotive or other rolling stock on a section of track. They are used as inputs to signal systems and control panels, and to indicate occupancy on hidden track and staging yards. Our easy-to-install DCC Block Detector senses the current drawn by a locomotive, lighted car, or resistor equipped wheel set. Simply run the track feeder wire through the hole in the current sensor - no electrical connection to the track is required. Connect the output, provide power, and adjust the sensitivity - now you're ready to go! An advanced digital design makes sensitivity adjustment easy and reliable for years of trouble-free operation.
