The Atlas HO-scale single hooded color light signal is perfect to use with any of our SimpleSig line of boards.  These signals can plug directly into any of our signal boards - no fiddly wiring and terminal blocks!  If you need a bit more distance from the board to the signal, check out our extension cables for Atlas Signals.

Some western roads, such as the Rio Grande and the Union Pacific, adopted hooded 3-light signals early on.   However, in the modern era, they've become the signal of choice for almost all upgrade and retrofit projects across nearly all North American railroads.  The hood makes the indications easier to see, and prevents stray sunlight from causing phantom indications.  It also helps to keep snow off the signal.  These particular models represent a modern version that uses aluminum masts and brackets.

This particular model has one head facing each direction, suitable for intermediate block signals. When installing, the walkway should be mounted away from the track, to help keep your scale signal maintainers safe.
